Different Types of Manicures and Pedicures
Friday, July 17th, 2009You can treat yourself to not just a normal manicure or a pedicure but several other types of manicures or pedicures at nail salons today. Here are some of the different types of manicures and pedicures that are popular among salon goers.

Types of manicures
• French Manicure – These nail manicures are the most popular of all. In a typical French manicure, the nails are shaped round, oval, or square and then a clear or pink polish is applied on the body of the nail and white on the tips.
• Spa Manicure – These nail manicures have a few more steps than in the normal manicure. In this completely relaxing manicure a number of aromatic oils and salts as well as a hydrating mask are used.
• Paraffin Manicure – Paraffin treatments are best for those with dry or overworked hands and are also great stress relievers. Warm wax is either rubbed into your nails or your hands are dipped into wax. The hands are then wrapped in a towel or plastic sheet for fifteen minutes before proceeding with the regular manicure process.
Types of pedicures
• Spa Pedicures – In addition to the normal pedicure process, it includes a paraffin dip, mask, mud, or seaweed treatment for a complete luxurious feel.
• Stone Pedicures – Different essential oils are rubbed onto the feet and legs with hot stones.
Some high-end salons may also offer pedicures that include exotic ingredients like Champagne, chocolate, ice cream, milk, and honey. Whatever type of manicures and pedicures you choose, make sure that you take your own manicure and pedicure kit to protect yourself from cross contamination and infection from salon tools. If you don’t have one, you can buy a SaniManiPedi Manicure and Pedicure Kit and put all your worries to rest.
